Awesome Site for Cheap, Unique Content

by Patrick Toerner on May 5, 2010

unique content

In another article I described a great way to get 100% unique content by using Google Translator.  This time we are using a content writing service.  The service in which I am speaking of is none other than TextBroker.com.  If you haven’t heard of it listen up!

After you sign up you need to deposit $25 minimum in your account.  That part turned me off a bit, so I decided to write for them and made the $25 then tried them out.  So, once you have money in your account, you can place an order.  The order is basically exactly what you want in the article: keyword density, keywords, word count, and any other instructions you have for writers.

Here are the prices per 100 words, based on rating:

2 Stars $1.20
3 Stars $1.60
4 Stars $2.20
5 Stars $6.70

From what I have experienced, 2 stars is barely legible.  3 stars is usually fairly good.  4 stars is excellent.  And 5 stars is perfect, as you have to be a professional writer to be 5 stars.  (I have never purchased a 5 star article but I read one from another review, check below)

Over at searchengineoptimisation.org they bought a 950-1050 word article from each category on things to do in New York.  Here are his results:

2 star article - cost $10.59. Click here to read.

3 star article – cost $13.45. Click here to read.

4 star article – cost $19.74 . Click here to read.

5 star article – cost $70.50 . Click here to read.

So as you can see, the 4 star and 5 star articles are both excellent, but the 5 star costs $50 more.

Now back to placing an order.  After you place an order, the article is now active on their site and any writer with a high enough star level can view the description and decide to write it or not.  If one chooses to write it, than no other can also write the article.

When you receive the article, if it is not up to your standards/specifications, you can have the writer fix it.  If again, you are dissatisfied, you can either have him fix it again, or reject it and send it back into the pool for all writer to see.  So really it is a guarantee for you as the purchaser.  You are guaranteed to get an article you like or you don’t have to accept it.

This website is one of the best sources for affordable, unique content.  It is also a great way to get quality content for your minisite.  I am in no way affiliated with TextBroker.com, I just think they are a great website and that you should definitely check them out!

Also, I would love to hear if you know another site similar to this, I am always on the search of great sources of content!  Let me know below.

So let me get this straight. They write 100% unique content for you at those prices? Or do they get articles from other websites and rewrite them? If they write unique content, that’s pretty cool. I could use them for some of my smaller sites. :)

I’m pretty sure it is unique. They make sure it passes copyscape. Yeah, its a great way to get content for minisites.

I joined TextBroker a long time ago but haven’t written for them or used them yet. Not sure what I’m waiting on but I like writing my own content for my sites. I did pay someone one time and they just re-wrote other articles they found online. I was not happy to say the least.

Oh yeah, I would never use textbroker for this site. I just buy a few articles for my minisites now and again. How did you find out that it was rewritten content?

I found out it was rewritten because the writers were so ridiculously stupid. I gave them the keywords to target and one of the articles they gave me was an article that I had written 3 days earlier with some words changed around. Then I started searching for specific phrases from the other articles they gave me and they were almost exact copies of others on the web. This was someone I had found on the warrior forum.

Wow, that’s pretty bad. Your own article! TextBroker runs all the articles through copyscape, so that is one prevention method. They definitely can still slip through though.

Hey Patrick,

I wish I could say I have experience with this type of stuff, but i don’t. I guess I just like getting my audios transcribed instead. I’m not sure how it works out cost wise.

Audio transcriptions are a great way to get content too. As far as if having article written for you is cost effective, well it sometimes is and often times isn’t. For example if you buy 100 articles, it will cost you around $500. But if this gets you number 1 on Google, it was cost effective :)

Yeah…that’s true. I guess it’s a volume thing…and probably a lot to do with which niche(s) you may be targeting. If someone is trying to hammer down 20 blogs and 20 niches…umm yeah, you may need that.

I’m definitely a fan of outsourcing things that I don’t have time to do myself or don’t know how to do, but it’s important to use people who you feel will do a good job. Sounds like some of you have had bad experiences with the site, but maybe the 4 and 5 star pieces are worth it. I’ll check it out, thanks!

Seems interesting. I definitely have to check it out. And yes I agree with you. It seems like it would be good content to put on mini sites.

Btw. how is your mini site working? Send me an email and we can exchange our experience about mini sites. It definitely will be interesting.

Hi Patrick,
that sounds like an interesting service. When you were writing to build up the $25 in your account, did they do an assessment to find out what start level you will be paid at? Or do you have to start at the bottom and work up?

Thanks,
Des.

There is an assessment, but basically everyone starts at level 3, unless you are a horrible writer. Then they rank each of your articles. If you write 10 or so level 4 articles, you can ask to be moved up to a level 5.

On a web site I used to do consulting for, there was so many people hotlink images. So we just added to HTML and forum code needed to hotlink the images with a live link back to our site. It was a huge success. People are lazy, people will cut and paste.

outsourcing is great.. if you find the correct services. I think you should also have a look at fiverr. It’s basically a site where people offer their services for $5 and you can find plenty of writers there. Of course, you can’t get a great article for $5 but you will find writers there who can write you a decent but unique article.

All this services are not of required quality.
It might be better to hire few linguists from developing countries.
Rusn quick test with your smple article and you would see if they do proper work.
Also think about how you would pay people putside US for this. (paypal and ach won’t work for them, checks deposited for 6 weeks and wire transfer has a fee of arround thirty USD).

Only unique content is king on the web and that isn’t going to change. I am not sure how it works out cost wise. Hope this site might be unique as you said. Thanks any ways for your help.
